PLATFORM SUPPLY VESSEL

A PLATFORM SUPPLY VESSEL (PSV) TRANSPORTS CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT

A Platform Supply Vessel (PSV) usually carries building materials and equipment like pipes, cement, fuel, lubricants, fresh water, food, and spare parts. It has tanks and strong pumps below the deck to transport liquids, allowing it to load and unload these materials directly at offshore structures. The large open deck is used to store bulky cargo and containers. The vessel can load and unload cargo using a crane on the offshore structure, and it uses its own dynamic positioning system to stay steady. In the offshore wind industry, PSVs often transport wind turbines and foundation parts. They are also used for supplying materials and removing waste from offshore transformer stations.
