ACCOMMODATION PLATFORM

OFFSHORE ACCOMMODATION PLATFORM FOR PERSONNEL AND EQUIPMENT

The idea of having a dedicated accommodation platform for service teams directly in an offshore wind farm (OWF) comes from the oil and gas industry. Besides providing living space for the crew, the platform has kitchens, bathrooms, workshops, storage areas, offices, and places for relaxation. These platforms are mainly used during the installation and startup of offshore substations. They are temporary but help create good working and living conditions for teams who stay on site for months. They also reduce the need for daily trips to and from the site, saving time. To make personnel transfers easy and safe, almost all these platforms have helicopter landing pads. Fuel, food, and supplies are brought in by supply ships.
