DIVE SUPPORT VESSEL

DIVE SUPPORT VESSEL (DSV) FOR INSTALLING AND SERVICING OFFSHORE STRUCTURES

Dive support vessels are mainly used to install and maintain offshore structures. They handle both construction work and diving operations. During dives, these vessels need to stay in exactly the right spot, which they do using anchors or a dynamic positioning system. They are equipped with systems for different types of diving, including mixed gas and scuba diving, so they can work in shallow coastal waters or deep-sea areas. The ships often have special cranes that support divers and their tasks. Many DSVs also have equipment like diving bells, lifts, remote-operated vehicles (ROVs), and hyperbaric chambers built in permanently. They have large, comfortable spaces for the crew, divers, and technicians. These ships come in many sizes and have different capabilities depending on their specific tasks.
